Civitans seek to be more informed about their communities and improve themselves through lifelong learning. Civitan programs range from community issues addressed by local government, business and media leaders to personal and professional development seminars. Through informative programs Civitans learn about the needs of their community, and as concerned community leaders Civitans focus their efforts on deserving causes. A few of our recent programs have included:
Health issues; Law enforcement; School safety; Teen Challenge; HorsePower mission; Resource conservation; Boys and Girls Homes of Lake Waccamaw; Travel; Self-improvement; Community awareness; Environmental issues; Driver education; Financial planning; Computer awareness; Website; ARC mission; Retirement planning; Proper use of a fire extinguisher.
Fellowship is an important part of a growing and productive service club. Civitan offers its members many opportunities to socialize, meet new friends and network with business associates. Working together on club projects is fun and there is always time to enjoy the company of other members and guests at club meetings throughout the year. Civitan plans special events and evenings just for members and their guests at times just for fun. Here is a sampling of some of Civitan activities:
